It’s finally college tour season! This is one of the most exciting and fun parts of preparing for college. So get excited!
As a current junior in college, I have had my fair share of experiencing college tours both as a prospective student and as a current student. As a current Wildcat, I am here to ease your stresses and help you have the best touring experience while visiting the University of Arizona.
Recognized as the top public university in the state of Arizona, the U of A is also nationally ranked as one of the top 100 Public Schools in America. As a tier-one research institution, the University of Arizona is a great place to study a variety of subjects on an in-depth level.
Not only is the University of Arizona a great place to learn it is also a great place to live. Boosting an average of 80 degrees Fahrenheit year-round, the warm and sunny climate is a big plus for students across the country. Now that I have convinced you to come visit the University of Arizona here are some tips to help make your experience here great:

You can also find more information as far as dates for that go by following the same link. If visiting sunny Tucson is not in the cards for you, a virtual tour is available at this link: https://www.arizona.edu/virtual-tour . Overall, there is so much to get out of taking a tour of the campus, you can really get a good feel if the U of A is right for you!
Another great thing about the University of Arizona is our school pride which is in direct correlation with the success of our many highly-ranked sports programs. One of the best ways to see the Wildcat pride in action is by attending a sporting event. Popular sports teams we have here include Men and Women’s Basketball and Football. Game days come with many traditions here, including watching the Pride of Arizona (our Band, Cheer, Pomline, and Baton Twirlers) perform throughout the games. Basketball games in the McKale Center are my personal favorite sporting events to watch. Tailgating for football games takes place in the mall a few hours leading up to the game and is also a great way to meet fellow Arizona fans, alumni, and students.
Another great aspect of the University of Arizona is the city that it calls home, Tucson. Tucson is full of chock-full of history and culture that has captivated many visitors from across the country. Tucson has been recognized by UNESCO as a City of Gastronomy because the food here tells a story that dates back over 4,000 years of Native American and Mexican tradition. Some restaurants that you should definitely consider checking out include El Charro Cafe (the birthplace of Chimichangas), Barrio Bread, and Ceres Restaurant. These restaurants among so many others can 69give you a good taste of what life in Tucson is like.
Regardless of your decision to commit to the University of Arizona, you want to keep in mind (at all colleges that you tour) where you feel most comfortable and inspired. Committing to college is a big decision not to be taken lightly but hopefully, with these tips you can have the best experience and be able to adequately decide whether you will call the University of Arizona, home.
