Common questions
Why do some student groups show no data?
The state hides results for groups with fewer than 11 students to protect privacy, and groups need at least 30 students (15 for foster youth, homeless youth, and long-term English learners at the district level) to receive a rating. A blank is a privacy protection, not a zero.
Why do continuation and alternative schools look different?
Schools with Dashboard Alternative School Status (DASS) serve students in very different circumstances and are measured with modified criteria. Comparing a DASS school directly to a comprehensive high school isn't fair to either one.
Where does this data come from?
Everything on this page comes from the California Department of Education's official 2026 Dashboard data files, released publicly each fall. We reorganize it so it's easier to read, but we never change the numbers.
How often is this updated?
The state releases CCI data once a year, and we update this page when the new files are published. The current data reflects the graduating class of 2025, reported on the 2026 Dashboard.
Can I see individual schools, not just districts?
Yes. Once you search your district, you can open any school in it, including charters and DASS schools, and see the same breakdown at the school level.
